Photo Gallery: Drainage Project, October, 2012.

The main trail runs on top of the former Pomeroy-Newark railroad. Along one section of this old railroad bed several springs surface creating an impassible area for walkers and mobile equipment (left image). Two small footbridges were constructed by volunteers in 2011 (right image). In October of 2012, several Friends of the Trails volunteers assisted Rickerman Tree Service to redirect the springs away and underneath the trail. Photos (below) of the completed project show perforated pipes being carefully situated in lined ditches covered with stone to channel spring water away from the trail.
